It is our students who have been been the great winners through the success of the our Community Business Sponsors programme. Since 2009 over $400,000 has been generously donated to our school in cash or kind from around 30 sponsors. 

There is direct benefit from the highly sought after Academic Scholarships for Merit and Excellence Endorsements in NCEA and through prizes at our end of year prize givings.

A popular initiative has been the Sport and Culture Fund to support students having to travel beyond Cromwell for their representative activity. Examples include the 40 or so students starting their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award, tournament teams, rowing team and individuals in sport, drama, Outward Bound or Spirit of Adventure travel and sports and kapahaka uniforms.

Our school has been able to purchase a wide range of resources for classroom use including 3D printers, art presses, kayaks, microscopes, musical instruments, as well as fund leases for our movable sets of computers.  

One area of significant value has been the funding to support extra staffing for our Gifted and Talented Teacher and Learning Support Coordinator as well as run pilot classes as we have done in senior music and now Year 9 drama.  

Our relationship with our Business sponsors is hugely important to us because of what it means for our students. Our students achievement continues to improve as we trend towards our goal of achievement at Decile 8 levels for NCEA. There are many processes systems and initiatives that are contributing to this but a key element has been the loyalty and foresight of our business sponsors to contribute to funding high quality resources and opportunities for our rangatahi.
